Now in its 15th year! Come join Georgetown’s Original Ghost Tour for a one hour walk through the historic haunted places of downtown Georgetown. Tickets required.

Special Showing of Klan on Trial Documentary

Join the Williamson County Historical Commission and the Williamson Museum for a special showing of Chet Garner’s documentary Klan on Trial. The event will be held Wednesday, September 6, 6:30 p.m., at the Williamson County Historic Courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Texas. You Can’t Do That, Dan Moody!

Come enjoy this historic play capturing an important part of Williamson County history. See the trial that was the nation’s first successful prosecution of the Ku Klux Klan, sending men to prison for acts of violence. The play will be held in the actual courtroom in which the trial was held in 1923. First premiered in 1998, this play has been seen by over 14,000 viewers.

175th Birthday Essay Contest

Landon Nguyen Ho is the Essay Contest Grand Prize Winner! William Gosch, Elijah Huntsman, and Alexis Flora are also winners!

Congratulations to all of the students in grades 11 and 12 from all of the public, private, and home schools in Williamson County that participated in our 175th Birthday essay contest. Students addressed the theme, “What do you hope Williamson County will be like and look like in the next 175 years?” Winners will be announced soon.

Congratulations to all of the students in grades 3-10 from all of the public, private, and home schools in Williamson County that participated in our 175th Birthday art contest. Students created artwork representing what Williamson County is to them as it celebrates its 175th birthday.

175th Birthday Mural Dedicated

Williamson County and the City of Georgetown officially dedicated the new Wilco 175th Birthday commemorative mural on April 20. International artist Yasaman Mehrsa designed the mural and members of the community helped her paint it. Come by and visit the new mural on the south wall of the Williamson County Tax Office at 904 S. Main Street in downtown Georgetown.
