Who
A Team of Many Equals
Celebrating the 175th birthday of our great county requires many willing hands to plan, prepare, coordinate, and make things happen. Creating this celebration has been a partnership effort involving the Williamson Museum, the City of Georgetown, the Downtown Georgetown Association, Williamson County, and so many more. Each of these organizations has dedicated time and resources to creating a year-long celebration of our heritage and place. We say “Thank You” to all of them.
A Place We Love
The celebration of our 175th year is really a celebration of the special people, places, and important events that have occurred over those 175 years. We think that is worth remembering because we wouldn’t be the place we are without them. So, we have planned or partnered with many local events to reflect the diversity and vibrancy of Williamson County, from community celebrations to art installations to rodeos to essay contests. You can learn more about all these events here. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Why
A Time to Pause and Be Grateful
Yet, we didn’t arrive at our 175th year by happenstance; it took courageous individuals doing hard things and leaders willing to take important risks. Our 175th Birthday Celebration is an opportunity for us to collectively pause, reflect, and say thanks for our rich heritage and many blessings. Our birthday slogan says it well: We’re Still Making History.
A Partnership with Our Proud Sponsors
The Williamson County 175th birthday and all it entails would not be possible without the generous, community-first contributions of our sponsors. Our year-long celebration owes a large “thank you” to our generous sponsors. Their partnership and willingness to locate in Williamson County makes our community stronger. Thank you to each of them.
