We’re celebrating our 175th birthday in many ways, including hosting several contests to feature the wealth of talent in our WilCo community!

Essay Winners Selected!

 

Congratulations to Landon Ho, William Gosch, Elijah Huntsman, and Alexis Flora, who are the Williamson County and City of Georgetown 175th Birthday Essay Contest winners!

Eleventh and 12th grade students from all public, private, and home schools in Williamson County were invited to participate in the essay contest. Students addressed the theme, “What do you hope Williamson County will be like and look like in the next 175 years?”

William Gosch, Elijah Huntsman, and Alexis Flora each won a $1,500 first place scholarship prize from their respective Williamson County Commissioners Court precincts.

Landon Ho won the $2,500 grand prize scholarship in addition to a $1,500 first place prize from his precinct.

Thank you to every student who took the risk, wrote an essay, and envisioned the future of Williamson County. Well done!

Art Contest Winners Announced!

 

Congratulations to all of our Art Contest winners. Third-10th grade students from all public, private, and home schools in Williamson County were invited to participate in the birthday art contest. Students designed a poster celebrating the WilCo 175th birthday.

There are three Grand Prize winners…

  • one $300 grand prize winner from grades 9-10
  • one $200 grand prize winner from grades 6-8
  • one $150 grand prize winner from grades 3-5

In addition, in each of the four precincts in Williamson County there is…

  • one $250 prize winner from grades 9-10
  • one $150 prize winner from grades 6-8
  • one $100 prize winner from grades 3-5
